Our Plan to Re-Open in Roanoke!

Posted on Monday, May 11, 2020

With the plans to open the state, we're excited to announce that we will begin to re-open our Roanoke studio the week of May 24! First things first, we have decided not to re-open our Huntington studio. We decided to close and told clients before the pandemic set in, but with the timing of it, we decided to wait to announce it to the rest of the world. We are sad to leave that space and our friends at Cardinal Family Medicine, but we are looking forward to having the energy of our community all under one roof. While we're excited to see you and be together again, please know that your health, safety, and comfort, and that of our instructors are essential. Because of this, we will be taking a phase-in approach and will be taking the time to evaluate as we ramp up to whatever the "new normal" turns out to be. There are still a lot of unknowns, so we ask for some grace as we figure everything out in the coming weeks. That being said, because of our space and the fact that we can limit how many people are in the studio at any given time, we are confident that with appropriate social spacing and stringent cleaning, we will meet the recommended guidelines issued by the state. A few things we can share now that we know will be in place, and we will be sure to send more information as we get closer to opening, but here's a little bit of what

•Schedule: When we launch, our schedule will look a little different, offering a mix of live and online classes. Stay tuned for updates and classtimes.

•Class Size: You will need to pre-register for classes at least 2-hours before start time via our website or MINDBODY app. Class size is limited to 10 people, and there will be indicators on the floor of where to place your mat to retain physical distancing. We will also take this opportunity to incorporate a class minimum of 4 people to help us save resources. Unfortunately, we will not be able to accept walk-ins for the foreseeable future.

•Props: Initially, we will only allow personal yoga mats in the studio. For the time being, we won't be able to use shared studio props (blankets, bolsters, straps) and ask that you leave yours at home. Blocks can still be used and wiped down after class.

•Cleanliness: We will clean the floors after each class as well as doorknobs, faucets, etc. Class check-in will take place on the instructor's device, and we ask that you sanitize/wash hands before and after class. Also, please leave your cell phone in your purse, jacket, etc. and out of the main studio during practice to refrain from touching your phone after you sanitize your hands.

Other things to keep in mind:

•Please retain physical distance before and after class

•Do not come to the studio if you are sick or don't feel well (including allergies).

•Please be considerate when you need to cancel a class so we can offer the space to someone on a waitlist.

We understand that not everyone will feel comfortable returning to the studio environment immediately. Remember that we will continue to offer online classes, so be sure to keep an eye out for more information.

We appreciate all of you more than you know! Those who have participated in our online classes have helped us grow individually and as a business to serve you better. We look forward to sharing more with you in the coming weeks - but we are excited about coming together and the future of Powers of One.

See you soon!

Valerie, Maggie, and all of the instructors at Powers of One
